Sanitary Protection Donation Drive

Period poverty is real and it is happening right here in Sarawak.

Menstrual products are a basic necessity, not a luxury.

Yet, many in our communities are struggling to afford menstrual products, especially during this Covid-19 Pandemic.

Period Poverty is a public health crisis

Period Poverty refers to:

  • Lack of access to sanitary products
  • Lack of access to clean water and/or hygiene facilities
  • Poor knowledge on menstruation

In this Covid-19 pandemic, period poverty has worsened due to loss of income and movement restrictions.

Menstruators in B40 communities especially are in need of sanitary products.

How our donation drive functions?

We are partnering up with Kuching Food Aid (IG:@kuchingfoodaid) who has tirelessly been sending out food aid to our local communities, urban and rural since the beginning of 2021.

Our donation drive has been ongoing since February 2021. We welcome monetary donation and donations in kind.

ALL funds collected for the SWWS Sanitary Protection Donation Drive goes directly to the purchasing of the sanitary pads.
